Miracle Mile's New Storefronts Are Small, Sweet and Open by Day

At 239 Miracle Mile, the front room sells frozen yogurt from a build-your-own toppings bar, along with matcha lattes and cinnamon rolls. Through the back is a studio running yoga and Pilates classes of up to 60 minutes. The business is called Yoghurt and Yoga, or YoYo, and the Gables Courier reported its opening on October 16.

Most of the storefronts that opened along Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue since August are small. They sell something sweet or quick, and they keep daytime hours. The large dinner restaurants are opening too, but at the east end of the Mile or a few blocks south of it.

The east end is where dinner opens

The most talked-about new restaurant address in the Gables is 100 Miracle Mile, where Chef Clay Conley opened Buccan earlier this summer. Imoto, his Japanese and Asian sister concept, followed in October. The Burn Miami reported the Imoto menu as sushi, sashimi, dumplings, tempura and teppanyaki. Both concepts started in West Palm Beach before coming to the Gables.

According to the Miami Herald, Imoto's entrance is around the corner on Galiano Street, and it serves dinner only: 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Buccan keeps the same evening schedule.

More is planned for the east end. Terranova Corp., a major Miracle Mile landlord, signed a land lease with Moxie's for an upscale-casual restaurant at 93 Miracle Mile. The Coral Gables Gazette reported in April that the opening was expected about a year out. Counting from that report puts it around spring 2027, which is an estimate, not an announced date. Fuku Miami, a fast-casual spot at 135 Miracle Mile, was already open when that April report ran.

The 200 block trades in cups, classes and errands

Past the first block, the new tenants get smaller and lean toward services. The same Gazette report lists Wells Fargo taking 5,900 square feet at 200 Miracle Mile. Other new leases on the block: Chewy Vet Clinic at 212, Linen Drama, a luxury home-linens shop, at 216, and the court-reporting firm Fernandez & Associates at 220. That report gave no opening dates for those four, so check before planning an errand around one of them.

YoYo fits into this block. Founder and owner Alice Jonsson based the concept on Fjällbacka, the coastal town in western Sweden where her family has roots. Swedish touches include cinnamon rolls and meatballs next to the smoothies and iced coffee. The Gables Courier lists the studio's prices:

  • A single class costs $35.
  • An introductory offer of two classes costs $49.
  • Limited founding memberships are $99, $179 and $199 a month for four, eight or unlimited classes, against regular rates of $129, $249 and $299.

The studio has also promoted "Froyo Fridays," and the current schedule is posted at yoyomiami.com. Mayor Vince Lago congratulated the business on its opening in an October 12 post.

A second frozen-yogurt option is coming a few doors down. New York-based 16 Handles has announced a self-serve shop at 270 Miracle Mile, first reported by Miami New Times in July. It has no announced opening date yet.

The 300 block turns over fastest

The 300 block has seen the most change since summer.

Address Business What happened When
Next to Seasons 52 Bodega Taqueria y Tequila Closed after two and a half years Farewell party at the end of July
317 Miracle Mile Call Your Mother Bagel deli moving into the former Bodega space Targeting early December 2026
330 Miracle Mile Simka Semch Peruvian luxury fashion lease No date announced
374 Miracle Mile Canelita Cheesecake Opened, then closed and moved to Miami Opening covered August 10; closure reported October 6
392 Miracle Mile Le Macaron French Pastries Pastry shop with a small gift section Grand opening August 29

At 317, a sit-down taqueria and tequila bar is being replaced by a deli whose menu, as What Now Miami described it, centers on breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches. It will be the D.C.-based deli's first Florida location, according to Miami New Times. The early-December target is still a target. The company's own locations page lists the Miracle Mile shop as "See you soon-ISH :)" with no hours posted.

Canelita shows how quickly the small formats can come and go. The Burn covered the Basque-cheesecake bakery's arrival at 374 Miracle Mile on August 10. By the outlet's October 6 report, the storefront had closed and the shop was moving to Miami. That is less than two months between the two stories.

Giralda adds the afternoon stop

Around the corner on Giralda Avenue, the newest opening is Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop at 154 Giralda. The Burn reported it open on September 25. Its location page lists hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. That makes it one of the few new downtown stops open before noon on a Saturday.

A lunch option is also planned on Giralda. Chef Jorgie Ramos announced Barley Tavern, a burger, margarita and whiskey concept. The Burn reported on October 7 that it would start as a lunchtime pop-up at Cebada Rooftop, 124 Giralda Avenue, before finding a permanent home in the Gables. The timing given was "later this year," with no start date or days set.

Off the Mile, the big rooms

The largest dining opening of the fall is a few blocks south of Miracle Mile. Zuccaly, the Italian food hall from Erasmo Da Silva, who opened Zucca in the Gables in 2017, opened on October 8 at The Plaza Coral Gables, 111 Palermo Avenue, Suite 112, according to Miami New Times. The Burn listed its six stations:

  1. Portavia Gastro Market, with prepared foods, pantry staples and Italian imports
  2. The Pasta & Risotto Hall
  3. La Biga Pizza Hall, with a dough that takes six days to make
  4. The Grill & Fish Hall, cooking over live fire
  5. Il Giardino, for salads, antipasti, salumeria and street food
  6. Dolci & Gelato

Zuccaly shares The Plaza with MIKA, Cantina Leon, CVI.CHE 105 and Mottai. Its FAQ currently lists noon to 10 p.m. daily. The Plaza's directory lists slightly later weekend hours, so check before going late on a Saturday.

Lebanese restaurant Lira House has announced a downtown location at 223 Valencia Avenue, also with no opening date. On Galiano Street, Sra. Martinez, the upscale Spanish restaurant at 2325 Galiano, served its final dinner on Saturday, September 26, as the Miami Herald reported.

The office leases behind the daytime shift

The small daytime shops line up with office leasing nearby. In its April report, the Gazette counted 17 new Terranova leases and one expansion. Together they cover 96,791 square feet on Miracle Mile and Alhambra Circle and represent more than $56 million in rent over their terms. At 255 Alhambra Circle, new tenants include Industrious, opening its first Coral Gables flexible-workplace location, along with financial-services firms Edward Jones and Janney Montgomery Scott. At 299 Alhambra Circle, the list includes Aram Wellness and Mitch's Downtown Bagel Cafe. With Call Your Mother due on Miracle Mile, that makes two bagel delis headed downtown. The Gazette described the stated goal as making the Mile an "all-day destination."

Dates to watch through spring

  • Early December 2026: Call Your Mother's target opening at 317 Miracle Mile
  • Later in 2026: Barley Tavern's lunchtime pop-up at Cebada Rooftop, 124 Giralda Avenue
  • No date yet: 16 Handles at 270 Miracle Mile and Lira House at 223 Valencia Avenue
  • Around spring 2027: Moxie's at 93 Miracle Mile, based on the one-year estimate reported in April
